Days Of The New

In 1996 Days Of The New, headed by Travis Meeks where signed to Outpost Recordings a subsidiary of Geffen Records, 
and brought on to Warner Chapels publishing. Their first was record with Scott Litt, producer of R.E.M. and Nirvana’s 
“Unplugged” album.  
 
In early ’96 Days Of The New did there first tour with “Kenny Wayne Sheppard”. During that tour the single Touch, Peel 
and Stand was released, and went to #1 on rock radio and other charts. 
 
Days Of The New has performed with such acts as Aerosmith and Metallica.  Days Of The New made two videos for their 
first album, the self titled double platinum “Days Of The New” and released three single‘s which all reached #1 including 
Shelf In The Room and Downtown. Touch, Peel and Stand won an award for most played video on MTV. Touch, Peel and 
Stand broke the record for the longest #1 single at rock radio. 
 
As Travis began to grow into a world/art music direction, he parted ways with his band. Playing most of the instruments 
and composing the songs and compositions, Travis released an additional three albums, selling a total of 3 million 
records. These albums are known as “I” (or Orange), “II” (or Green), and “III” (or Red). 
 
Travis’ former band member later became Tantric. Success followed for members from the 2nd album, including Nicole 
Scherzinger, lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. Two single’s where released: Enemy which went to #2 for three weeks and 
Weapon and the Wound which went to #11 on billboard. 
 
In 2001 Travis Meeks and The Doors got together to record and perform L.A Woman and The End for “VH1’s Story 
Tellers”. The last Days Of The New record was released in 2001.  
 
Travis Meeks and Days Of The New have appeared on the following soundtracks: Godzilla, Half Baked, The Crow, Varsity 
Blues, Heavy Metal 2000 (also produced), Black Hawk Down, and 98 Winter X Games. Travis Meeks and Days Of The 
New have also performed on “The David Letterman Show”. 
 
Currently Travis has been writing and recording music. Travis is presently touring with a large full band. Travis is currently 
working on the new album “IV” (or Purple).
