Phish bassist/multi-intstrumentalist Mike Gordon hits the road this fall for a special limited 20-date tour titled "Get Bassed." The Port City Music Hall is pleased to host one of the few New England dates.

After two highly acclaimed runs last year touring on the release of his album The Green Sparrow (Rounder Records) , Mike returns with the same five-piece lineup, including longtime collaborator 

Scott Murawski on guitar (you saw him recently at PCMH playing guitar with the Grateful Dead's Bill Kreutzmann and BK3), Vermonters Craig Myers on percussion and Tom Cleary on keyboards, and Brooklyn drummer Todd Isler. 

Born in Sudbury, MA, in 1963, Gordon formed his first band in high school. In 1983, while attending the University of Vermont, he formed the jam band 

Phish along with guitarist Trey Anastasio and drummer Jon Fishman. An avid filmmaker and photographer, Gordon has shot music videos for Phish and directed the 2000 feature film Outside Out. In common with his Phish bandmates, Gordon was involved in several outside projects during his time with the band. He worked with Jamie Masefield (Jazz Mandolin Project) and Doug Perkins (Smokin' Grass) in Grappa Boom, and in 2002 released a duo album with acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke.

On his own, Gordon has an inclination toward bluegrass and Jewish folk music and plays a variety of instruments including guitar, banjo, and piano. The end result is always eclectic, boasting Mike's skillful assimilation of free-form rock & roll, calypso, pop and funk that showcases an unexpected side to Gordon's songwriting and reveals new layers of far-reaching invention.
